Varsity Girls Basketball Recap

The Varsity Girls Basketball team ended their season last week with a well played game against Posnack School. With new coaches and a relatively new team, the girls ended their season being 5 in 11 (W/L). With only 1 senior, most of the team should be returning next year, back and better than ever! The team stats were led by 8th grader, Alessia Silva, and senior, Sofia Mueller. Congratulations to our players and coaches on a memorable season! Here are a few closing words from captain Lilly Montez:

“We accomplished a lot this year. Our team chemistry was unwavering throughout this season. We grew as a young team as our coaches pushed us in every area. Our eighth graders stepped up to the plate this year and performed at a high level. Alessia Silva, our eighth-grade post and guard, scored 84 points this season and is ranked 2nd in our district for blocks. Sofia Muller, our senior captain and post, also had a great season with 147 rebounds which puts her as 2nd in our district for rebounds. Lilly Montez, our junior captain and point guard, had 21 assists which puts her at number ten in the district for assists. Overall, this season was super fun and full of many accomplishments that we thank God for and can’t wait to carry over into the next season.”
