π On Friday, our first-ever DSA swim team completed their season at the FHSAA Class 1A Region 4 championships held at NSU University School. The team represented DSA proudly and competed well. π It was a great first season of swimming at DSA. A special shoutout to coaches Bryan Fiecko and Santiago Gomez. π Their leadership, guidance, knowledge, and mentorship were fantastic! β³οΈ Our golf teams participated in the FHSAA Class 1A District 15 tournament today. Our boys team finished in 6th place and our girls finished in 2nd place. π With their 2nd place finish, our girls team advanced to regionals next week. Also, a huge shoutout to freshman Stella Lind for her first place medalist honors as the overall girls champion.π Stella shot a 70 (-2) to take the individual championship. π₯ On Friday, our swimming team competed in its first-ever FHSAA district swim meet. The team represented DSA proudly! The boys` team finished in 5th place, and our girls` team took 3rd place. π The girls` team narrowly missed finishing as the runner-up by just two points. Two individuals finished with individual gold medals. π₯Gianluca Polo took first in both the 100 back and the 200 IM. Gabriela Candelaria also took first in the 200 IM. πͺ Our girls` relay team took first place as well in the 400 Free. π§ Finally, after months of delays, construction has resumed on our new soccer field! The crew is back in full force and ready to make significant progress over the next few weeks. π We can expect to see the new turf going down soon! God-willing, our soccer teams will be able to compete in Shark Stadium yet this season. π Expect to see more updates on the construction here throughout the upcoming weeks. β½οΈποΈπ
π Congratulations to our middle school girls` golf team! On Wednesday, our middle school golf teams concluded their seasons with the SFMSC (South Florida Middle School Conference) Championship. β³οΈ Our girls` team did exceptionally well and earned a 1st Place finish by shooting a team score of 168! π Not only that, our #1 singles player, Orianna Acosta, was the medalist in the tournament. Yesterday our high school girls golf team broke the two school records! π The team shot a 9-hole score of 140. Thatβs a four under par team score. Amazing! π Senior Ana Hernandez also broke the girls individual 9-hole scoring record by shooting a 31! πππCongratulations to the team and coaches on this amazing performance! Yesterday, all four DSA volleyball teams traveled to Florida Christian for competition. π The two middle school teams started off the night with impressive victories. Then it was time for the high school teams to take the floor. Both teams dominated in coming away with straight-set sweeps. π The 11-1 upset-minded Patriots were no match for the undefeated Sharks in the last match of the night.
