Sharks Season Ends in Regional Championship

The varsity volleyball season came to an end last weekend with a four-set loss at the hands of Westminster Christian. The sharks won the opening set before losing the final three. “Reaching the Regional Championship match is a great accomplishment and we are certainly happy about it. However, we had bigger goals in mind for this year so losing this match is extremely disappointing. Westminster Christian played a tremendous defensive match and earned the victory. They are a great team and a great program.” commented coach Willems.
The Regional championship was the last high school match for 11 seniors. Many of them have been on the varsity team for at least three years. The Lord continues to bless the volleyball program at DSA and this year was another successful season. Although the Sharks did not reach their goal of getting back to the State Final Four, there were still many high moments for this group on the season. The varsity team finished with a record of 24-6, reached as high as #50 in the MaxPreps national ranking, won the Chaminade-Madonna tournament, and won the Westminster Christian tournament. To God be the Glory!
