Sharks Play at Miami Heat Arena
On Jan. 8, the Divine Savior Sharks played versus Life Christian Academy at Miami Heat’s own FTX Arena. Hundreds of our DSA fans came out to watch and cheer them on!
Unfortunately, the team had its lowest scoring game and shooting percentage of the season in a losing effort scoring only 47 to Life Christian’s 56. While the game was even through the first three Quarters: 10-11,12-14, 15-15, the Sharks had some untimely turnovers in the fourth, and allowed its opponent to win that Quarter 16-10. The team suffered only its second loss of the season in ten games thus far.
Senior Xander Castillo led all DSA scorers with 20 points, and had 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Senior Giann Romero scored 13 points, making three 3-pointers, and had 4 rebounds, 1 block, and 2 steals.
The Sharks next three games are Monday vs Posnack, Wednesday at home vs Ronald D. Reagan Senior High School, and Friday a huge away game at District rival Miami Country Day.
