King of the Hill
The DSA cross-country teams had a meet in Tropical Park on Wednesday. This meet is most commonly known as “King of the Hill” because of the steep hill the runners must run up as part of the course. Our team had no fear when conquering the challenge because their daily practices had trained them for this moment. The girls’ team was led by their captains Valeria Arias, Sabrina Thomson, and Mariah Shultz, and their top runner Sophia Kuerth ended with a 26:58.8. The boys’ team was led by their captains Alejandro Merlano and Andrew Corti and their top runner being Andrew Corti with 26:58.8. The team would encourage one another in the course and give extra support up the hill. With the teams bonding and encouraging commentary, it was a great meet for the team.
