Our DSA cross-country teams have started the season strong with their opening meet at the Race of Thoroughbreds Classic on 9/1/23. The girls’ team was led by senior Valeria Arias, finishing in the top 40 among participants. The boys’ team was led by junior Ryan Hansen, who earned a medal with a 15th-place finish, beating his personal best by over a minute! Recently, the Sharks enjoyed running the beautiful course at Greynolds Park. This meet was one for the books! Almost all of the athletes came close to reaching or even surpassing their personal records. Congratulations to junior Sophia Kuerth and senior Mariah Schultz for leading the team throughout the race and finishing in the top 50. Another congratulations to our freshman Lucas Marques and junior Elias Marcayda for placing in the top 40. What a fantastic way to start the season! Stay tuned to see big results from the King of the Hill meet next Wednesday. We can’t wait to see what our Sharks will accomplish next!
