District Soccer Champions!
It’s playoff time, and Divine Savior Academy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ransom Everglades Raiders on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-1. Given Divine Savior Academy’s advantage in MaxPreps’ Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Ransom Everglades are ranked 149th) , the result wasn’t entirely unexpected.
Daniel Aperte and Josh Gongora scored both of Divine Savior Academy’s goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.
The victory made it two in a row for Divine Savior Academy and bumps their season record up to 12-2-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two contests. As for Ransom Everglades, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7-1.
DSA faces off against St. John Paul II at 3:30 p.m. at Shark Stadium in the first Regional matchup. Go Sharks!
