Despite the heat and humidity, the cross country team competed well at their meet on Thursday at Larry and Penny Thompson State Park.

The Junior Varsity teams raced first. Junior Natalia Acon was the first DSA finisher with a time of 29:10 while freshman Elias Marcayda finished first for the DSA boys with a time of 28:34.

The Varsity teams competed next. The top runner for the girls was freshman Trinity Hartman with a time of 25:03. The varsity boys represented DSA well, with three runners placing in the top 15 and winning a medal. Sophomore Jo Nunez placed 7th with a time of 18:05, senior Sebastian Tenorio finished 8th with a time of 18:16, and freshman Mateo Sotelo placed 10th with a time of 18:23.

The athletes will compete again on Tuesday, October 5th, at Pinecrest Academy.
