Varsity Boys’ Basketball Tough Playoff Loss
It’s hard to turn regular-season success into postseason wins, a fact Divine Savior Academy can now relate to. They fell 79-75 to the Riviera Prep Bulldogs on Thursday. The Sharks haven’t had much luck against the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short in the last six meetings.
Several Sharks players turned in solid performances, though they ultimately came up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joost West, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. West has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he’s played. David Watson was another key player, posting 16 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
Divine Savior Academy’s loss dropped their record to 19-9. Riviera Prep will square off against Miami Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on the 28th. A great season for Sharks basketball! Nice work this year by the coaches and players. To God be the glory. Go sharks!
