With a playoff win on the line, Divine Savior Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. They managed a 69-63 victory over the Miami Country Day Spartans. Winning may never get old, but the Sharks sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Divine Savior Academy’s success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Fernando Grande led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. That’s the most points Grande has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of David Watson, who shot 69% from the field en route to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

Divine Savior Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Divine Savior Academy’s win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Miami Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Divine Savior Academy will take on Florida Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Sharks will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games. As for Miami Country Day, they will challenge Chaminade-Madonna at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
