Making Waves
7th grade student Gianluca Polo made DSA history on Saturday, September 14, when he became the first DSA athlete to compete in a swim meet. The event took place at Belen, and Gianluca finished in the top 2 for both of his events. Even though there is no official swim team, he was still able to compete as an individual and represent DSA. He was supported by his club swim coach, parents, and a few teachers. Gianluca finished 2nd for the 200 free with a time of 2.03.91 and took 1st place in the 50 back with a time of 30.16.
Gianluca will continue to represent DSA in a few more swim meets this year. The next one will take place at Belen on Wednesday, September 18.
