Varsity Track Breaking Record


The high school Varsity track & field team is settling into the season and breaking records along the way. In the 5 track meets attended this year, three school records have already been broken, along with many other PRs (personal records) set. Senior Jose Coronado set a new boys’ javelin school record with a distance of 24.57 m. Mateo Sotelo broke the 1600m school record with a time of 4:34.82. The boys’ 4 x 800 relay team broke the school record and set a new time of 8:55.37. This team is comprised of Mateo Sotelo, Ryan Hansen, Eduardo Garrido, Erasmo Da Silva. A number of other athletes have cracked the top 5 list in several other events and more records may fall yet this season.
